Meningococcal Disease in the UK provides comprehensive information on invasive meningococcal disease (meningitis and septicaemia). The slide presentation pack has been developed as a flexible teaching tool, but can also be used as a stand alone learning resource.

The pack contains:-
  • a series of 23 slides accessible in a powerpoint format on disk
  • comprehensive lecture notes and glossary (keywords and phrases are highlighted throughout the lecture notes)
  • a reference list and suggested further reading
  • a list of useful websites and professional contacts

CD-Rom inPractice

inPractice is designed to help pre-registration student nurses learn about the care and management of meningitis and its related diseases with the aid of two ward based care scenarios. The scenarios help students in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in various settings. They have been developed to fit into the branch programmes for adult and child nursing.

Both scenarios provide:
  • very latest interactive features including sound and video
  • supporting information to cover course aims and learning outcomes
  • learning outcomes that encompass clinical and interpersonal skills
